Hot Honey Glazed Salmon (Printable Version)

Tender salmon with spicy-sweet honey glaze, ready in 25 minutes

# Ingredient List:

→ Fish

01 - 4 (5-6 oz) salmon fillets, skin-on or skinless
02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
03 - ½ teaspoon salt
04 - ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

→ Hot Honey Glaze

05 - ⅓ cup honey
06 - 2 tablespoons hot sauce (such as sriracha or Franks RedHot)
07 - 2 teaspoons soy sauce
08 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
09 - 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
10 - ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

→ Garnish

11 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or chives
12 - Lemon wedges, for serving

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
02 - Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Arrange fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
03 - In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey, hot sauce, soy sauce, garlic, lemon juice, and smoked paprika (if using). Stir until just warmed and slightly thinned, about 2 minutes.
04 - Brush half of the hot honey glaze over the tops of the salmon fillets.
05 - Bake for 10-12 minutes, depending on thickness, until the salmon is nearly cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
06 - Remove from oven. Brush with remaining glaze. Broil on high for 1-2 minutes to caramelize the glaze (watch closely to avoid burning).
07 - Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The glaze comes together in minutes but tastes like something from a restaurant
  • You can adjust the heat level to suit everyone at the table
02 -
  • Watch the broiler like a hawk during those last two minutes
  • Letting the glaze cool slightly before brushing makes it coat better and drip less
03 -
  • Warm your glaze slightly if it has thickened in the fridge before brushing
  • Room temperature salmon cooks more evenly than cold from the fridge
